Alina Sayre began her literary career chewing on board books and has been in love with words ever since. Now she is the award-winning author of six books as well as an editor, educator, and speaker.

Her debut novel, The Illuminator’s Gift, won a silver medal in the Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards and was a semifinalist for the BookLife Prize in Fiction and a finalist in the Shelf Unbound Best Indie Book competition. All four Voyages of the Legend books have received 4- or 5-star reviews from Readers’ Favorite. Alina’s other works include two poetry collections, Fire by Night and Intimate Metamorphosis, and two TEDx talks in 2018 and 2021. Her essays and poems have appeared in publications such as Pensive, Foreshadow, Ancient Paths, and Artway.

When she’s not writing, Alina enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading under blankets. She does not enjoy algebra or wasabi. She lives with her family in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains.
